Welcome to 2017

Welcome all to a new year for Venturers! Short introduction...I'm Adam Kilpatrick, your new Branch Commissioner Venturer Scouts, taking over from Natasha Wylie. I look forward to working with you all and evolving the Venturer Section as we move forward, particularly with YPR concepts as they roll out. Congratulations to John Hooper, who is now a new ABC Venturers - "Activities". We also have some new Program Advisors starting in the section already, who will be introduced to units soon.

Roventure Sat 25 March

RoVenture is an event on the Rover calendar, inspired by the CBS television show, Amazing Race, which is designed to showcase the Venturer and Rover sections through a mixture of team-based adventurous and intellectual activities. Teams will need to demonstrate Courage, Endurance and Ingenuity to win the event.
RoVenture 2017 will be a highlight of the scouting calendar and will promote the Rover section to Rover-aged young adults and the venturer section.

Easter Venture 14-17 April

EV2017 will be held at the Caroona Creek Conservation Park - a great hiking area with plenty to challenge the best Guide, Scout and Venturer Hikers! Easter Venture (EV) is a four day themed competitive hike, run by the Scouts Australia (SA Branch) - Venturer Section.
This year the theme is "Lost at Sea". Applications are welcome from Older Scouts, Venturers and Guides.
To be eligible to attend, Youth Members must be:
competent in the outdoor skills required by the Venturing Skills Award or its equivalent;
and be 14 or older on Friday 25 March 2016 and under 18.
Teams of 4 to 7 can be made up of individuals, twos or threes from any of the eligible groups. For example, a team could comprise Venturers from two different Units, or be a mix of Venturers and Guides. Inviting a couple of older Scouts from your local Scout Troop might also be an effective linking activity.
Don’t have a team? You can still apply and we’ll find a team for you!
